What a New Study on Pregnancy Diet

You will feel so much happy because you are now pregnant. But you could not enjoy your diet without worrying of weight; it is one of the upsides of pregnancy. There are some limitations for intake food because at this time whatever you eat is directly effect on your health and growing child.


A conclusion of a study has been proof that those who watched their weight were 3.84kg lighter ad had fewer pregnancy complications than those who didn’t.

It was considered the last several years, in a pregnancy you have to eat for two. But this new study has been proving you should not go calories-restricted diet and any diet that would ordinarily make you lose weight if you stuck to it.


Best advice that you may control your weight that you put during pregnancy. So it does not get out of hand. But in any case your weight goes more than 100kg during pregnancy than you must consult your doctor about your diet plan and calorie intake.


Over weight pregnant women has face lots of complication not just at birth but as their children become adult. Complication that most commonly found that is obesity. Losing weight after pregnancy is such big challenge because you could not control your diet plan due to breastfeeding and baby require more nutrition and minerals and you diet is only a source.


So while pregnant don’t try to control your calorie diet, this study only suggest that eating a healthy, well-balanced diet for pregnant women is necessary for proper and healthy growth of your child.

Diet or Exercise: Which is more Important during Pregnancy

If you are able to follow a healthy diet plan you can get a safe pregnancy. A healthy diet plan can reduce a lot of pregnancy complication which can be fatal. Such as diabetes, premature birth, heartburn, pregnancy constipation, hemorrhoids, etc. According to the study overweight and Obese is placed in the category of pregnancy problems.


If you control on diet during pregnancy also may greatly reduce complications. Time of pregnancy is ideal for weight management, not only for the baby but the mother is equally important.

A team of researchers, which was operated by Dr. Shakeela Thangaratinam from the Queen Mary University of London. They found in their study of weight gain during pregnancy can have adverse effects on mother and child or excessive weight gain may be a sign of complication.


Lead researcher Dr. Shakila Thangaratinam said: “We are seeing more and more women who gain excess weight when they are pregnant and we know these women and their babies are at increased risk of complications”.

Dr. Shakila Thangaratinam also explained that many women are worried that dieting during pregnancy is not safe for the health of the baby, but the study “is reassuring because it showed that dieting is safe and that the baby’s weight isn’t affected”.

The research has proved that it's dieting during pregnancy is more beneficial then exercise.
